Description
This is of the original 'Girl with Balloon' – a sculpture made from a blow-up doll held aloft by a helium balloon over Millennium Bridge, bang in the middle of London.
The full story appears in Banksy Captured Volume Two, but it was a classic example of the 'someone else's problem' shield in effect. Policemen and other officials walked by, saw it, and decided it must be someone else's problem. Eventually the helium waned, the sculpture fell to earth and was run over flat by a bus. At least its journey is immortalised on film, and now in this special print edition.
