James Lavelle’s Mo’Wax record label hosted an exhibition at The Tramshed venue in Shoreditch featuring Futura 2000 (who created the bulk of the artwork for the label), Stash 2 and Lee Quinones. The show drew heavily on the rise of the Internet for inspiration.
The Guardian newspaper arts pages commented, “And you thought graffiti was about sniffing solvents and bunking off school,” with the usual level of foresight. The Tramshed became a restaurant for tech start-up guys to blow their investor’s cash in, with Damien Hirst’s ‘Cock and Bull’ sculpture hanging above the tables.
