Description
I shot this Banksy portrait on Thames Beach, just along from Tate Modern which you can see in the background, in the early 2000s. The balaclava he's wearing was more famous than the person inside it at that stage; I think he'd worn it in The Bristol Evening Post for an article there. The lettering is 'BANKSIDE' but, poetically, points to the day millions of Americans would refer to him phonetically as 'Bang-ski'. Thanks again for the wonderful reception to these editions, hand-sprayed by myself as you can see on Insta.
