Description
The Anonymous series features photo portraits of Banksy by Steve Lazarides, hand-stencilled by Steve to retain the artists' prized anonymity.
Although intended to be a regular, definitive press shot this particular portrait of Banksy never made it into print anywhere. That's life in the creative industries. The gentleman doing the pouring is one of his indefatigable team of fearless assistants.
I took the photo in the mid-2000s and hand-sprayed the smiley face on myself too using a stencil in a suitable homage. Each is slightly different.
