Description
A rare female figurative portrait in landscape format from Alexandre Farto. The artist noted for his use of dynamite and appropriation of fly posters also used Quink traditional ink and printing acids to a rough-hewn, tactile effect across the paper.
No other artist combines and contrasts the personal with the environmental like Vhils. The city, after all, is its people.
Vhils sculpts evocative portraits from the eroding layers of the urban environment, using old flyposters, pneumatic drills and even explosives to restore humanity in the city.
