I've made a series of my own images from Banksy Captured Volumes One and two available as affordable, easily photography framed print editions.
The image is one of several Banksy put up of amateur-but-enthusiastic painters at an easel. Back in the 90s and 2000s painting was considered terribly naff by the art establishment – it was all about modern formats like conceptual installations and video art. At one point, emerging graffiti artists like Banksy were some of the few artists making news who were using paint to express themselves – hence these homages to the humble painter, going about it for pleasure rather than immediate gain.
