‘Junglist Laz' Playlist by Steve Lazarides

General Levy's social media profile pic is far, far stronger than yours

In light of jungle drum 'n' bass suddenly becoming a hipster thing, here's Laz's totally hardcore, rigorously authentic, jungle playlist.

Anything ravey is at its best when there's no hangers-on. Many 'scenes' thrive after their time in the media spotlight fades… and often breathe a second wind years later. Take jungle, which germinated with records like this, saw General Levy (above) storm Top of the Pops in 1994, and then concertedly went back underground. If you're reading this and you were actually going to jungle raves in 2012 when some of these tunes came out, sticking your 'high grade' down your sock on the way in, we take our hats off to you. The rest of us will have to dream together via the power of music. So in light of jungle drum 'n' bass suddenly becoming a hipster thing, here's Laz's totally hardcore, rigorously authentic, jungle playlist. You can listen on the Spotify machine or the YouTube one, here's all the bastard links that won't take you away from the zine.
